Lincoln County 4-H Overview

Message to 4-H Parents

Whether your child is a “brand new” 4th grader or a “veteran” 12th grader, Lincoln County’s 4-H program offers many exciting opportunities.   It’s a unique educational program open to all youth in Lincoln County in 4th – 12th grades; there are no dues to pay or uniforms to purchase for youth to be involved.  The 4-H program helps young people develop life skills needed to become capable, responsible and caring citizens. Through local clubs, special interest groups, after-school programs, camps and other events and activities, 4-H members have fun, make lasting friendships, enjoy “hands-on” learning experiences and become involved in their communities.

In Lincoln County 4-H involvement starts for most 4th thru 8th graders with 4-H club meetings held in the classroom during school hours.  There is also a 4-H Home School Club that meets monthly and older 4-H members can get involved in the 4-H Honor Club and/or 4-H All-Stars.   There are lots of county-wide 4-H events and activities held throughout the year, including bi-monthly Cooking Club and Sewing Club meetings, judging teams, livestock shows, project group meetings, shooting sports (BB & archery), as well as, community service and leadership projects.

The 4-H judging teams and project groups meet regularly and are trained by UT Extension volunteer leaders or UT Extension personnel.  Our 4-H program offers a wide range of projects, events and activities so that every member can find something that appeals to them and at which they can excel.  In fact, 4-H program is the largest youth development organization in the nation helping to train future citizens with skills in leadership, community service and communications.
