The UT Forage Lab in Nashville will test your hay or other forage sample for nutrient content for $10. Sampling equipment is also available for loan.

Hay Moisture & Temperature Probe

An electronic hay moisture and temperature probe is available for loan from our office to test hay for proper storage condition and to avoid hay fires.

Scales are available from our office to weigh both cattle and hay for performance programs or to determine bale weights.

Plant & Pest Diagnostics

The UT Plant Pest Diagnostic Lab in Nashville assists in identifying insects and diseases for both homeowners and commercial clients. We also have Distance Diagnostic equipment to produce digital pictures of full-size and microscopic pests to send images to the lab for identification and control measures.

Soil Testing

UT has a soil testing lab at Ellington Agricultural Center in Nashville. Basic tests are $6 each - additonal testing is available. You can either bring the samples in to our office, mail them yourself, or drop them off when you are in Nashville. Pick up boxes and information sheets at our office.
